Our Projects
At MCOVOD, our projects are the heartbeat of our mission bringing real solutions to real community needs. Guided by our core thematic areas, each project is designed to create lasting impact in the lives of women, children, youth, men, and other vulnerable groups. From health and livelihoods to environmental sustainability and advocacy, explore how we're driving change on the ground.
Photo voice Advocacy
Right2Grow World vision Uganda equipped MCOVOD with skills in photo voice to advocate for community needs
Photo voice: Is a participatory method where people use cameras to take photos that illustrate their lives and share their knowledge and expertise on particular issues that affect them.
- It’s very effective for people who cannot influence decision to have their voices heard through photographs.
 - It ensures marginalized people like women, children, illiterates, stigmatized, etc. are involved in decision making
 - Groups of people gather together, take pictures and then discuss these pictures
 - The pictures are captioned by the photographers, with quotes to bring the realities of the people/communities and then exhibited to a wider community and key decision/police makers to foster change.
 - Exhibition of photos with quotes can actively catalyze change in their communities and engage with a wider community and decision makers.

Improving Community Access to Safe Water
This project focuses on both the repair of non-functional water sources and the installation of new water points in underserved communities. Many of these areas have long struggled with limited or no access to clean water, leading to health risks, long travel distances, especially for women and children and reduced quality of life.
By restoring existing infrastructure and establishing new, sustainable water sources, we aim to ensure reliable access to safe water for domestic use, hygiene, and sanitation. The project also includes community sensitization on water management, maintenance training for local water user committees, and the promotion of environmentally friendly water usage practices.
Improving Post-Harvest Handling and Storage
This project addresses the challenges farmers face due to poor post-harvest storage practices, which often lead to significant losses in both food quantity and quality. In many communities, lack of proper storage facilities and limited knowledge on preservation techniques have resulted in mold, pest infestation, and reduced market value of crops.
Through this initiative, we are introducing and promoting improved post-harvest storage methods including the use of hermetic bags, raised granaries, and proper drying techniques. We also provide training to farmers and community groups on effective handling, sorting, and storage practices to minimize losses and ensure food safety.
